Intolerance, Money & Stats: Cost of Freedom of Information

Scottish Parliamentary authorities have revealed that 'Freedom of Information' requests from journalists have cost taxpayers more than 139_000_GBP. Among the requests were details of Mr.David Mcletchie's taxi expenses, which led to his resignation. Although processing the requests took about 7_000 hours, no charge was made to the media organisations. 'The Sunday Herald' and 'Scotland on Sunday' placed requests costing an estimated 56_000_GBP.
